1. Our Approach to Privacy
Shiftuner is a time clock, not surveillance software. We built this tool to help businesses comply with Spanish labor law while respecting employee privacy. We believe you can track working hours without tracking people.
The short version:
We collect only what's needed for time tracking (clock-in/out times, basic account info). We don't track your location, monitor your activity, or take screenshots. Your data belongs to you and your employer, and we never sell it.
2. What We Collect
We keep data collection to a minimum. Here's exactly what we store:
- Account info: Your name and email address
- Time entries: When you clock in and out
- Employment info: Basic details provided by your employer
- Technical data: Device and browser info for security
3. What We Don't Collect
This is just as important. We deliberately avoid collecting:
- GPS or location data: We never track where you are
- Screenshots: We never capture your screen
- Keystrokes or mouse activity: We don't monitor what you do
- App or website usage: We don't track which programs you use
- Camera or microphone access: We never request these permissions
- Biometric data: No fingerprints or facial recognition
Our app simply records when your shift starts and ends. That's it.
4. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used for one purpose: time tracking and compliance.
- Recording your working hours
- Generating reports for Spanish labor law compliance (RD-Ley 8/2019)
- Sending you account-related notifications
- Maintaining platform security
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to profile you.
5. Data Retention
Spanish labor regulations require employers to keep time records for four years. We retain your data for this period to ensure your employer can meet their legal obligations during labor inspections. After this period, data can be deleted upon request.
6. Data Security
We take security seriously. All time records are stored in an immutable audit log that cannot be modified or deleted. This protects both employers (for compliance) and employees (your records can't be tampered with).

7. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have control over your data. You can:
- Access all data we hold about you
